Joke's on you, I just pull the lever, lock it and look at my own screen on my phone.
Do you have a massive gas tank or just slow pumps? My truck's tank is 70 litres and fills up in less than 2 minutes. I just stand there staring into the distance like a crazy person.
Thats roughly the same as my car and yeah its about 2-3 min to fill, but i agree with that guy. I never just stand there holding it, use the lever to lock it and walk around for the few minutes. It releases its self once full so i cant think of any reason why i would want to stand there holding it.
Also this is only when i go on trips since i live in 1 of only 2 states that require attendants to pump our gas for us... i hate it and would rather do it myself. They are normally understaffed so they take forever to get to you and normally in a bad mood.
Its very annoying moving to the UK where those locks are always disabled, so you HAVE to squeeze the handle the whole time. One place even disabled the auto-stop when the tank is full, so you always spill a little.
A few Shell stations near me started experimenting with staff who'll pump your fuel for you at no extra charge - and they'll even top off your washer- or blinker fluid if you want. You can tip them if you feel like it, but it's "optional."
Well, we Finns aren't exactly the most outgoing bunch, so tons of people just stopped going to those stations altogether. I think they've quietly ended the experiment by now and let folks pump their own gas again.
I just check for new messages as I'm normally driving before and after fueling.
I'm sure they will have a new model out soon that blasts the advert at you at excess volume.
Shout "McDonalds" to stop pumping!

Id look at the meter instead of the nozzle
Why? Here the pump automatically stops when the tank is full.
To leave room in the tank Just in case if I see a lower gas price later then I can capitalize by saving even more
gas pump levers in the Netherlands don't lock.
but a lifehack is to put the gas cap in there.
Didn't know. Good thing they do here because my car doesn't have a removable cap.
