I've noticed Reddit comments are slowly but surely getting outnumbered with ICE sympathizer comments.
Any video I saw of the high school kid punching the ICE instigator had thousands of comments that are Pro-ICE. They are typically aggressive and taunting. The amount of bot posts and comments are ridiculous too.
Are there bot commentors on Lemmy?
I just migrated, don't really know all the ins and outs yet.
Most that hit Lemmy are pretty damn obvious and get banned quickly by mods and instance admins.
So far the slightly more complex reddit style ones haven't been turned on us yet. Probably don't think the smaller userbase is worth the effort.
I suspect these more advanced Reddit bots are given some kind of special access via private APIs or other backend integration from the Reddit staff / devs themselves.
Which they won’t get here. Of course, the whole thing is open source, so they could modify that as needed and run it on their own instances. Of course, those instances would then be easy to spot and defederate. And on and on.
Sometimes I think there are provacateurs on here, saying we should do something about so and so and so forth. Trying to do the old FBI trick of creating terrorism where there isn't any.
I totally agree. Any overt suggestion that any US citizen should take up arms against the gov is an automatic red flag to me. FBI? Maybe. Russian Incitement? Maybe. I dunno who, but I don't believe it's just some dude from Sweden suggesting it.
PSA Time: Also, if you're considering anything like that, please call a mental crisis helpline immediately. Those are not healthy thoughts, and you may be a danger to yourself and others.
The view that "everyone who disagrees with me is a bot" is frustrating. No one can have an opinion differing from mine, and if they do they aren't a real person they are a plant put there by a fascist billionaire.

I voted for her, but fuck Kamala Harris. Establishment Democrat who was basically a Republican. Why would I want to vote for her?
Kamala Harris is the reason why Donald Trump is president. She represents more of what Americans don't need right now. Do nothing Dems who won't help us. We need more Bernies, AOC, and Zohrans.
Or even worse, the pro Kamala K-Hive.
It's not likely for a few reasons. The community is smaller and the juice is not worth the squeeze. They are easily spotted here.
