Alone time dins:

Now the question that keeps me up at night is where should the tomato go. Above the lettuce but below the patty, or above the patty potentially inundating the top part of the bun.

I usually do patty, cheese, (optional layer pickles), tomato, lettuce, and condiments on the top bun. But it does get unstable, so maybe Iโ€™ll try lettuce on the bottom next time. I think it would work.

I was taught that bacon touching the bun is a big no no, makes the bun soggy. But that was also school lunches where they would sit for 3+ hours so shrug

For me tomato goes on top of the cheese. Then I pepper & salt it.

For me I like the tomato above the patty & cheese, but not the very top layer. Iโ€™ve never considered placing below, I will try this next time and report.
