One is obsessed with weird photo-ops to prove his manliness in mall ninja-esque situations like barechested equestrianism or white guy judo.
The other put on a plate carrier and went to film himself in a town that the enemy said it had seized the day before, just to prove they hadn't.
Edit - has Putin ever even been photographed in a plate carrier and helmet? Has he ever worn one since his KGB analyst days?
