Violent clashes between protesters and security forces in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi and in the country’s north left at least 22 people dead and more than 120 others injured as demonstrators supportive of the Iranian government attempted to storm a U.S. Consulate on Sunday, authorities said.

In the north of the country, demonstrators attacked U.N. and government offices.

The violence came after the United States and Israel attacked Iran, killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Police and officials at a hospital in Karachi said that at least 50 people were also wounded in the clashes and some of them were in critical condition.

Lol. People thought the dem candidate was somehow a worse prospect.

[–] Tyrq@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But she was a lady, and black, and laughed, how could that have gone well...

If Democrats want to win elections, they need to run candidates that care about the working class.

Running on a platform of "deficit spending" is not enough. They need to raise taxes on the people taking us for a ride.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Of course! She would have started a war for greenland, hunted lgbt people and immigrants, and annexed mexico too! Without congessional approval!

Waiter! Ill have what the other guy is smoking!

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If that stuff really matters to you, then you should encourage Democrats to support the working class so they don't lose elections.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ya. You said that to the other guy too.

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Yes. Most of you still don't get it which is why Democrats keep losing to Donald Trump.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because trump cares so much about the working class. Right. Way to explain your point.

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You can keep repeating the same mistakes expecting different results and Republicans will continue to win elections. Or, you can learn from your mistakes and do something differently. Democrats use social issues to distract from fiscal ones, and people like you fall for it consistently.

Stop being part of the problem if you genuinely want to stop Republicans. What you're currently doing is not working.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I dont have to repeat shit. It took just one bad move on the part of the sitouts to get us here. So while youre waiting on your ideal progressive candidate, the adults are trying to get things back to a manageable state. Then youre welcome to talk to me about changing stuff. Otherwise stfu or bend over and take trump like everyone else.

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ok. Hope you like JD Vance as president.

[–] in4apenny@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How much you wanna bet that guy will vote for Gavin Newsom.

[–] SaltySalamander@fedia.io 1 points 18 hours ago

I wouldn't vote for him in the primary. But if Newsome wins the primary, I will absolutely hold my nose and vote for him, just like I did with Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. To vote any other way, come Nov 2028, is to guarantee 4 more R years, and if you would do differently you're not a serious person.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 day ago

you mean the one who openly said she would keep on bombing gaza?

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol -4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

In this case, it doesn't really matter.

Kamala is an Israeli puppet as well.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You're fucking delusional if you think she would have just randomly bombed Iran too

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 2 points 1 day ago

There's nothing random about it.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How so?

Biden and Harris went along with child genocide and a state-engineered famine. They would 100% bomb Iran if Benny told them to.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No they didn't. They still supported Israel, but they were making statements about tempering Israel's approach. As Israel got worse and worse under trump's encouragement, I'm pretty sure a democrat (or anyone sane) would have pushed back a lot more on Israel. Not enough, probably. But better is better.

[–] kittykillinit@lemy.lol 2 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

they were making statements about tempering Israel’s approach.

Actions speak louder than words.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Absolutely. But diplomacy starts with words and it sometimes works. We don't know what would have happened next if trump hadn't fucked everything ten times over. We know trump actively encouraged the genocide, so it's a significant difference.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

they were making statements about tempering Israel’s approach

LOL, they made statements about Israel's approach for four years... but supported every single thing those murderers did. Their words are meaningless because when Benny tells them to jump, they jump.

And when Benny told them to bomb Iran, they'd have done it.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 0 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Obviously, you can't know that, so you are just making things up to fit your world view. But whatever, if you're happy with the destruction trump allowed on Gaza, I can't help you. Good luck.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I love how Democrats suddenly pretend to care about these things once leadership changes.

All I heard from you for four years were excuses for genocide.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago

I haven't seen anything like the current actions before in Israel. Previous to the Oct attack response, the only significant calls for genocide in the area came from Muslims. Israel treated people in Gaza terribly, and illegally kept expanding their settlements. But it was nothing like any conventional use of the word 'genocide' would be. Things changes throughout '24, but it was a slow transition and with all the lies on both sides, it wasn't clear until the end of December how much Isreal had gone off the deep end. And then trump came into power and encouraged them and it got significantly worse. So I'm not sure where your 'years of excuses' comes from because it doesn't fit the actual timeline.

[–] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 day ago

Yes but Kamala surely would have stood up to her employer and demanded they stop using the US government to kill Arabs! Trust me, bro, please!
