- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
- Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
- Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world

I'm a bit like this, except it's a single injury: a scar in my arm. Caused by mixing calcium carbide and water in a glass bottle and then closing it. (I was a dumb kid. And yes, kid — I was 14 back then.)
I'm proud of it not because of the scar itself, or because "I survived! I must be strong!", but because it was motivated by my curiosity about the world. It was part of my quest to know a wee bit more, you know?
That is really cool, you might say that your character design has lore 😁
I had bad acne scarring that really confused me because it actually looked like someone had taken a blade to my face a long time ago, and i was a bit miffed that i didn't have a good story behind it 😮💨
You can always make up a story, just stick with it!
My dad had a "hunting accident" story where a bullet went through his knee in the exact same place they would put screws when someone is in traction for a broken leg. The story got better every time he told it!
I'm glad my "character design" is just that scar, though. My prescription glasses were scratched when this happened — without them I'd need to change my class from rogue to pirate! (I also got a small scar just above the lip, from the same event. But it's usually hidden by the beard.)
Gotta agree with [deleted], it's all about making some story up. Let's say you fought a jaguar in the wild! (Or a cat if you want something more believable.)
