RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I don't mean gross stuff like SomethingAweful.

I'm talking someone's fever dream neocities page that details how to make a UFO engine using element 115.

A blog that is wild conspiracy stuff that has aged like fine wine.

Or some serial forum post that makes no sense but seems too complex to be performative.

17776 is a good example, if you're not familiar.

It's not really that weird, but is a funny classic (around for at least 25 years) and I am still not completely sure if it is meant seriously or not.

It's basically a very detailed online course on how to apply butter to a pretzel:

I like it. It's fun. But, is it normal to slice a pretzel in half laterally like that?

It's the most popular take-away snack food in Southern Germany, so yeah, totally common!
It's also the most stereo-typical Bavarian food that I know of, besides Weißwurst.

In my city there are even booths scattered all over town selling nothing but sliced pretzels filled with dozens of different topings you can choose from.

The butter one is still GOAT, though.
You can get it in every bakery.
