MODERATORS

it can be books, video games,Movies,TV Shows, etc(though i will be focusing mainly on Video Games)
i wanted to ask long running/active since it would be more interesting.
i would love to hear your answers!

my attempt at the rules defining Active and Long Running
am also not sure the definition of long running/active.
maybe the last game(dlcs, updates and unreleased games dont count) should be from 1-3 years ago(or makes video games atleast every 1-3 years as of 2026), and the franchise should have first existed from atleast 2004-2006 or older i think.
it can also be that it says online that its still present

My list
so let me start:
franchise dates as of March 10,2026(if i dont say present it does not mean the franchise is dead)
Video games:

  • Touhou Project(1997-2025): I love Touhou 18,good fanbase/fan content(for the most part atleast),good OST.
the bad thing tbh it used GenAI (its not as bad as it sounds though)
its franchise/video games are pretty Niche but good.
currently taking a hiatus (under the end of march/early April) but i will be back so am still including it here.
  • DOOM(1993-2025): well you guys know this ,DOOM 1 from 1993 and DOOM II are pretty good. but i prefer this open source version called FreeDOOM.(and put some TC mods on top of FreeDOOM)
the bad thing is the company behind it(Bethesda then Microsoft)
  • Asphalt(2004-2023): has been a while since i played any of its games,unsure .
like DOOM bad company good game

and thats what i remember

(i apologize if i posted this 3 times,my client glitched out )

Yeah, One Piece easily. I feel straight up privileged to have started watching it some 20 years ago and still enjoying it to this day.

I just started the series over, before I watched to just after episode 1000. It's crazy how much love and effort has been put into the show imo.

Yeah it's stunning. I've watched the early parts a few times and just started watching again from the start with a friend who fell in love with the live action version.

It opens up even more when you have more context, even if Oda "retconned" stuff, he has always been pretty good with it. He's like the master of modular storytelling. And you have so much absolutely amazing things ahead of you!! Stoked for you!!

Actually I am right at this very moment waiting for my friend to finish dinner so we can watch the first ep of OPLA s2 :D

I truly think what's blowing me away the most was how much was actually decided so early on. Like when Shanks saves Luffy and gives that sea monster a look, was that not the Haki look? Besides that, I can't think of a piece of media that promotes mutual aid and freedom of choice more than one piece.

My understanding is that Haki system hadn't been developed yet when Shanks did that thing. But that's what I meant with Oda being good at modular story telling. He consistently gave himself places to expand upon without having to do blatant retconning.

And yes. The pro-social aspects, the inclusivity, resistance to tyranny etc. but I also just adore Luffy as almost like a spiritual guide. He's totally surrendered to pursuing his goal and is almost always in full acceptance of whatever that may lead to. And he does so with a joyful heart. And he is forgiving. There's some Buddhist undertones there that I appreciate. I'm also just glad to see a popular show in this point in time that has a lead character like that and handles it well.
