A quick Spoiler Free PHM mention :
I watched the Project Hail Mary at the IMAX. The choice of screen size was worth the extra money. There were a few breathtaking shots that caused slight vertigo which is part of the fun.
I did read the book when it first came out, however, forgotten most plot details which is great. Going into a movie and constantly comparing it to the author’s original storyline can be unfair to the merits of the movie.
I rate the film amongst one of the best I have seen this year. The humour combined with the action and suspense were well balanced, as was the flashback structure of the story. Unfortunately , I don’t like Ryan Gosling though, but that’s just personal preference. He did a fine job.
4.5/5
I saw it this weekend too. Normal cinema not imax. Really enjoyed it. I read the book a year ago therefore I didn’t remember every detail of the story, didn’t bother me if minor stuff changed as I might not be remembering it right anyway. I think it was true to the main story and and vibe, very nicely done. The actress who played Eva was perfect casting too. The dead pan line deliveries were brilliant! Agree with your 4.5/5. Feel good movie, good antidote to the current state of the world.
Precisely..🙂
