Cute Russian comic. The home of the official English version is here if anyone wants to skip ahead (or support them): https://boosty.to/gabiconomics-en

An overproduction crisis is a recurring phenomenon in capitalist economies, where more goods and services are produced than consumers can buy with their available income (and thus supply exceeds effective demand). This mismatch leads to unsold inventory, falling prices, reduced profits, layoffs, and sometimes even economic recessions. It highlights a structural imbalance, as production may grow faster than the market’s ability to absorb what is produced.

Unbreakable wheels would be pretty neat, but I don’t think they’ve actually invented them - just significantly stronger ones.

They aren’t even wheels that work for every purpose: they’re probably great for pull/push carts, but a metal hoop isn’t going to have enough traction for a wheel that’s designed to actually be propelled by an engine, so other advances in technology will undoubtedly leave them needing to produce other styles of reinforced wheels.

Regardless, yeah, if they could eliminate their survival profit motive and plan only the level of wheel production actually needed at close to cost, they wouldn’t be stuck with their current situation. But that seems to be the point of the comic as a whole in the end, IMO.
