Netflix killed the JoJo hype the second they got the series. I don't know what David Production (or whoever made the deal with Netflix) was thinking but no amount of short term profits was worth permanently hamstringing the popularity of the show. In the long run they will be losing money. But most of the money from anime production goes to fucking corporate parasites so you can see why short term gains were prioritized
Jojo went from one of the biggest and most popular franchises to a fringe anime after just one Netflix season. Legitimately insane.
Even profits don't make sense because streaming it on a weekly schedule will retain subscribers for longer compared to batch releases.
Yup. The way Netflix has handled JoJo is just astoundingly bad
