RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

What law of the universe determines that the moment you try to be quiet, you are then encumbered by an unseen force that attracts you to every hard surface in the room?

Seriously, it's like trying to be quiet causes some sort of phenomena where you unavoidably trip on things, kick the foot of the bed, or drop things.

Extra points if told from the perspective of a children's book writer.

My theory is that I still hit all that stuff and make a bunch of noise when not trying to be quiet, but it isn't notable then so I just forget about it immediately.

Also the usual time I'm trying to be quiet is sneaking into bed in the dark after staying up too late, so I'm hitting stuff because I can't see it.

This seems way too logical. It almost sounds even correct.

But... I'm pretty confident there's gnomes involved.

I definitely can't prove that it isn't gnomes. You have me there. (I prefer KDE though)

Actually... it might have been a 🐧 that I saw...
