In hundreds of messages reviewed by the Daily Mail, the 56-year-old is allegedly shown messaging sex workers who specialize in “bimbofication,” or a type of roleplay fetish that involves being turned into a stereotypical bimbo or Barbie dolls in some cases.

“Ms. Noem is devastated,” a spokesperson for Kristi Noem told The New York Post. “The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time.”

I don't know, I think a big part of the 'own' is the hypocrisy of it. Every accusation an admission.

I don't know if liberals really are secretly waiting to dogpile someone for crossdressing.

Im mentally lumping it with the Putin/Trump kissing stuff because 'both Trump and Putin are homophobes' 'owns' that libs gleefully and uncritically trot out. If the own was that he's a hypocrite, they'd lead with that Person X accused of hypocrisy as photos of them doing Y emerge", not with the 'scandalous' kink

I admit that I haven't followed the story that closely but what I have seen in mainstream reporting has been less "look at that hypocrite" and more "celebrity caught having yucky and ridiculous kink".

Look in any thread on one of the popular lemmy instances that concerns Trump women and you will see tons of libs unleashing their internalized misogyny and body shaming bullshit

If you call them out on it they get so offended too. Like “how dare you imply I disrespect women? Me, the person who literally just posted about how one of the Trump ladies was so pretty before her “mar a lago face” and then went on a paragraph rant about her current appearance with the rhetoric of a schoolyard bully”

I think you are correct though that they won’t dogpile on cross dressing but merely because they conflate it with LGBT identities which makes them terrified to comment and potentially appear homophobic (misogyny is fine though, didn’t you see that South Park episode)
