I have no idea what I'm seeing here.

[–] Sinkbath@lemmy.today 75 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

It’s an apple Magic Mouse and its new battery backup.

[–] FUCKRedditMods@lemm.ee 35 points 2 years ago (3 children)

The possessive of “it” is just “its”

“It’s” is short for “it is” like “you’re” for “you are”

I’m not trying to be rude—just want to be helpful. I used to incorrectly use it’s the same way.

[–] Cyanity@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago (2 children)

So did they write "its" or "it's"? Because the comment is currently correct.

No, it's not fixed.

and it's new...

[–] NightAuthor@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I think they just wanted to use its wrong

[–] Sotuanduso@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago

What about it's wrong?

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 6 points 2 years ago

Downvoters must have hated being in school. Rude teachers correcting grammar all day...

[–] Comment105@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

But for Henry's it's still apostrophe s. Because that makes sense.

[–] Sotuanduso@lemm.ee 14 points 2 years ago

Its is a possessive pronoun. His, hers, theirs, and its, not hi's, her's, their's, and it's.

A mouse that can only charge if placed upside down, or in rare 3rd party charging carriages. Apple making things nice, neat and simple as they usually do.

[–] PlatinumSf@pawb.social 17 points 2 years ago (2 children)

iPhone 15 pro USB C charging a Apple Magic mouse (lightning port located on the bottom).

(lightning port located on the bottom).

Wow. And I thought I had seen bad design before. It's rare to have a wireless device that is entirely disabled when charging.

[–] SkinnyTimmy@lemm.ee 25 points 2 years ago

It's so people don't just leave the cable in so it always looks clean and slick.

...fucking hell

Apple - hold my beer

[–] Natanael@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I know plenty of headphones that can't be used while charging, but that's often because it would be inconvenient to use simultaneously

[–] Kuolematon@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That was one of the main reasons why I sold my Sony headphones and replaced them with Airpods Max. Charging the headphones while in use isn’t really any more inconvenient than using wired headphones would be.

[–] Natanael@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 years ago

My Sonys can't be used with Bluetooth when charging but you can use 3.5 mm audio input so they act like wired when charging. Probably because they're using a fairly standard Bluetooth chipset which also controls charging

[–] mnrockclimber 1 points 2 years ago

To be fair, I charge my Magic Mouse once a month and it takes less than an hour. Throwing it on the charger overnight when I leave for the work day isn’t a huge deal.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

How does the phone know not to charge itself by draining the mouse?

[–] Seudo@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Doesn't look like any sort of fruit I've seen!
