I remember seeing a post earlier about whether Hexbear thinks Trump or Biden wins 2024 but it seems no one predicted that there simply would not be a presidential election in 2024. At least if this keeps going

Antipresident Trump ruling from the new capital city of Mar-a-Lago.

Antipresident trump can create a new state religion that is just conservative megachurch evangelical christianity with tradcath characteristics and appoint the recently removed texas archbishop guy as the head of it

This isnwhat actually is going to happen sometime in the next 2 decades with candidates are going to declare they won and the country is going to balkanize over it.

And I really don't think it'll be a civil war because there's no defined fronts, it'd be all the cities being blockaded by all the surrounding rural areas.

The only thing that might prevent this from happening is if liberals say the republican president won with their compelling argument of "fuck you what're you gonna fo about it" to move forward ad a nation and begin healing.

Isn’t that last paragraph basically describing the 2000 election?

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

Yea but it was a month long dog and pony show.

In the scanrio I'm suggesting it's more like 2020 where any objective observer agrees Biden got the EC votes to win but 40% of the country just says "nuh uh" and dems still end up agreeing to give up.

But republicans are usually smart enough to give dems a boogeyman to point to and blame for their loss because they understand liberals ideal state of existence is losing while claiming a moral victory.

And I really don't think it'll be a civil war because there's no defined fronts, it'd be all the cities being blockaded by all the surrounding rural areas.

Lol no. If some sheriff tries to enforce a blockade on a major metropole they would be told to stand down and then either arrested or shot. This is a direct threat to capital interests

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 12 points 1 year ago

Arrested or shot by who? I'd it gets to this point it's gonna be the cops manning the barricades.

The Canadian truckers managed to fuck up commerce for like three weeks and they didn't even know what they were mad about.

[-] CrimsonSage@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

Yeah but that's because the seal of civility still holds. Like they actually start starving people they are gonna get fuckin merced. Like let's not fall into the trap that only hogs have guns, they may have more but not a monopoly, or numbers in their favor.

There is nothing I want more in this world to be true but if your hope is for the liberals to take up arms with the socialists and communists to violently oppose fascism history has a pretty depressing track record.

If it plays out like every other time it's gotten to that point liberals will absolutely start giving up anybody the chuds deem as undesirables as a bargaining chip they'll ultimately get nothing for.

But again I would like literally nothing more than to be wrong about this.

[-] CrimsonSage@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

Oh no, I don't see somecross class alliance. The fact is there is no significant organized socialist formation in the the usa for the libs to join with; like what an alliance with the cpusa? Lol. What I see is the conservatives basically forcing a conflict on unwilling libs. Now the question is whether that conflic would give what little left there is space to maneuver. I do think that the right would be crushed by the liberals in the long run. The liberals have a significant hold on the mic as well as the military, in addition to global finance capital and still significant domestic industrial capital. The hogs are really just focused in small regional industry and the extractive Industy.

The truckers were never a serious threat to capital, they were annoying and cost a lot of money. But the cost of bringing down the hammer on them was higher to the political class than the loss of money. A blockade of all the urban areas though? That's war.

And sure cops are gonna be reactionary, but cops have tried to aide with states and municipalities against the federal government before and they have literally never won that fight.
