What's up with liberals knee jerk urge to avoid absorbing contradictory/ conflicting information? Instead of taking the second to see why people are saying xyz (in this case,Biden is old, genocide is bad, demand better from politicians) they double down on being proudly ignorant. They're so eager to be exploited

Throwback to this lib leaning into it re: Gaza

Truths are complicated and challenging. We don't have to take sides or teams; although I know it's difficult given then times we live in, where we feel the pressure to take sides given how fast we are bombarded with information. Join me and others in the effort to be comfortable with cognitive dissonance, and remember that regardless of any political leaning or nationality, we are all connected by our common humanity. Let's not antagonize eachother. Good luck in your search for answers.

We don't have to take sides or teams

imagine seeing what's going on in Gaza and being able to say this. they must be totally empty inside

just abdicating from humanity. like i can't imagine someone who really believes in the zionist narrative not taking a side? SOMEONE is being genocided here, right? if you don't think its Palestinians than its gotta be israelis right?

scientific evidence that it is possible for humans to survive without a spine.

I have a "friend" who's exactly like that. Taking a side might upset people on the other side so better not to. "There are lots of bad things happening in the world, I can't care about all of them". Proceeds to care about none of them.

I know it's weird but among all the other better reasons to despise anti-abortion activists, I always felt like, if you genuinely believe that abortion is murder and that hundreds of thousands of innocent fully human babies were being murdered every year, its shocking cowardice that they aren't firebombing clinics every day. I'd like to think that if I was convinced that there was a building in my community that murdered children all day every day that I would do something about it?

Odds are there's some weapons component factory in your area, given how they like to spread those out everywhere. And there's certainly a prison and a police station. And it's pretty rare for any of those to burn down. Idk where I'm going with this, not trying to be edgy or fedpost, just saying people lived normal lives next to the concentration camps, ya know? Cognitive dissonance or willful ignorance or whatever it is, seems to be a pretty strong force, I don't see why the right wouldn't also be able to believe something and completely ignore it at the same time.

yeah I hear that. prioritizing personal safety or comfort over action isn't unrelatable lol, there are things I believe are terrible that I don't take direct action against in my community. personally I'm going to wait until I'm old before I start seriously considering assassinating politicians or whatever.

but people did firebomb abortion clinics and get away with it at one point. they close at night so it would be relatively easy. also lots of people believe that these unbaptized babies don't just die but go to hell so that's a whole other level lol.

still tho I do understand what you are saying. I guess I could have the same opinion about vegans who don't blow up slaughterhouses right. its just something I always felt about abortion activists probably because I already hard then lol

It seems more recent, at least to me

In years past, they were fine with criticizing their leadership, they even kind of enjoyed it; doing so helped make them look more 'educated' and 'impartial' than their conservative counterparts. Something changed with Trump, 'vote blue no matter who' really got taken to heart, and now making even the most milquetoast criticism is seen as an indictment on you and an indicator that you are stupid or a Russian asset or a conservative

liberals tend to view politics through the lens of personal morality. you're a good person if you support democrats. the inverse of that is if the democrat in office is bad, they view that as their own personal failing for "picking wrong" so it causes cognitive dissonance that causes them to keep doubling down.
