I’m an Apollo refugee and Memmy is damn near the same experience - it’s great.

[-] Dankry@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Ditto. Memmy has a very familiar feel to it. Hell, it's even got a lot of the same themes which is a big plus.

[-] swan@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Jesus fuck I never knew it had themes I could change. Thank you so much dude. This looks way better Although I wish the green theme didn’t change the whole screen to look like a filter just pasted over it

Thunder as well. It just got a playstore release.

[-] lazierlaser@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

I was using Jerboa and Liftoff alternatively when I found out your comment. Thunder fixes all of my complaints ty!

[-] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

If you do end up having any, let us know on !thunder_app@lemmy.world or the github.

[-] PhreakyByNature@feddit.uk 3 points 1 year ago

Thanks, I will try this. Ultimately I know I just want Boost, but I always had a backup reddit client on my phone, so let's see what ends up taking second place.

[-] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 year ago

Felt the same about Relay, and was really bummed it isn't making the hop to lemmy. But now that I'm on the team making Thunder, I'm hyped af to make it something even better.

Voyager is the best. Big plus for it being a PWA.

I use Connect, having tried most of what's out there but can't wait to get my hands on Boost.

[-] koolkiwi@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Liftoff is the smoothest for me so far. Connect is great, too, but I can't stand the Icon. Same with Jerboa.

[-] stealthnerd@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Connect is such a well designed app but you'd never know it based on the icon. It really is ugly, though not as bad as jerboa's.

It's true the Jerboa icon is off-putting for me too

I have Jerboa, Liftoff, Thunder and Connect installed and cycled through them to test them out. But lately i noticed i seem to be gravitating towards Connect.

Same, except I now more often seem to settle on Liftoff.

Liftoff

Connect can't connect to feddit, lol and jerboa seems unfinished.

[-] gelberhut@lemdro.id 4 points 1 year ago

I used connect with feddit.de without any issues.

Looking at the Github for Jerboa, I feel like some text and icons aren't that greatly sized.

Liftoff looks pretty good but I personally dislike the + button on the bottom.

[-] Treefox@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

I'm using Connect currently and it's pretty good so far.

[-] LBEB80@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Enjoying Connect as well. Dev is very responsive and has been making tons of changes and improvements. Reminds me of rif

[-] Sarcastik@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I wish we had a poll vs trying to read through all these posts....

I flip between connect and jerboa. Jerboa would be my go to, but it's got too many issues.

I'm using Liftoff, it's still in beta and feels rather clunky but it'll do until Boost comes out

I briefly tried Jerboa, but I kept getting errors when trying to connect to some instances. I switched over to Connect, and that's been working well for me so far. The dev is making consistent updates.

[-] i_do_not_agree@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

And he have full time job amezing guy

[-] CobaltLion@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I've been trying both Jerboa and Liftoff. I think I'm liking Jerboa a bit better, it sort of reminds me of RIF a bit.

[-] tabtabtabby@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 year ago

Im using jerboa but definitely wanna change when boose comes out

[-] Send_me_nude_girls@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago

Connect, much better than Jerboa as of today.

[-] danhab99@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago

Liftoff, connect was too laggy

[-] jadrien1@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Have been loving voyager aka wefwef the best. Reminds me of when I used to use apollo. Can't wait for boost but this one's pretty good too.

[-] crowsby@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I like the look and feel of Jerboa, but it has a bug on my device where I'll be typing and it'll just jump to middle of the post and start deleting/overwriting stuff.

I like how Liftoff can provide a unified All feed with content from all instances, but the feed just looks so noisy and icon-heavy

Connect seems the most well-rounded and the closest to a Relay for Reddit replacement, so I've been mainly gravitating toward that.

Thunder just didn't hit with me for whatever reason.

[-] DigitalPortkey@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

There is something odd about the fonts used for Thunder. Maybe the spacing between the letters, I don't know exactly.

I use too many, but lately only using apps that allow me to hide read post and mark as read while scroll, meaning:

  1. Voyager
  2. Connect for Lemmy
  3. Summit

In that order, whenever Thunder gets these features I can see myself rocking it until Sync or Boost for Lemmy enters to the game!

I have high expectations for that hinted Voyager native app though.

Liftoff. I tried Jerboa, Connect and Liftoff and bounced between Connect and Liftoff for a while, but I mostly gravitated towards Liftoff. It's OK for now, but I don't think any of these apps will stay on my phone once Boost is released.

[-] Slopz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

lemmy.world in a browser (mobile version ofc) with a shortcut. I prefer it over any app at the moment because of the good UI and no missing functionality.

Thunder on Android is a very good experience, and Memmy on iOS are my favorites at the moment - have been for a couple weeks now.

[-] Iamdanno@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I started with Jerboa, but am now using liftoff. Both are . . . OK. I'm not going to bother with another one until Boost gets released.

[-] MajesticSloth@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I've been rotating between these. Have had issues with both so start using the ither one when the problems get bad with the current one.

I tried Thunder as well but that was the worst experience.

[-] InFerNo@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Jerboa, I only wish I could swipe to the next post instead of having to back out and then click the next..
