For owls that are superb.

If you find an injured owl:

Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.

Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.

Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.

If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

He looks like one of those star wars ships with the wings that rotate around the fuselage.

My husband thought this was CGI at first, so I had to see if I could find the original. I found it on his website: (https://stevewoodsphotography.com/)

It's ever-so-slightly off center, and has a bit of the ground in the frame, but I think it's even better. It so much more realistic that way.

Wow, this gallery is amazing. It's crazy how much expression is in some of these.

The advancement of photography and CGI makes me question so many photos! I'm not a photogrpaher, so I don't always know what is good composition vs done in post vs outright fake, so I pass on a good number of pics if I can't verify they're from an actual photographer.

Since I try to post mainly educational things, I dont want to risk credibility, so it's easier to just pass on something questionable, but if they're real or not, they are some really amazing pictures!

Thanks for doing the background check. I appreciate it though I didn't consider whether it might be CGI.

I think we found the inspiration for the mandalorian skinny-ships from rebels/mando.

These guys are majestic.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

So is he flying normally and rotated his head?

[–] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It looks that way, if you look at the tail it is in plane with the wings.

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It is in plane

lmao it’s a bird not a plane

[–] akwd169@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

No, in the original on the photographer's website you can see the ground at the bottom of the picture which lines up with the owls head not it's wings
