You can't just toss a "w" in there and pretend you're not affecting the meter. I mean, obviously you can, but you really shouldn't.

Maybe it's just my accent but the way I naturally do 'whaling" doesn't affect the meter.

Like, "dubya-atche-ay-el-aye-en-gee"

I presume you'd do "double-yoo"?

That's what makes it alarming

If you have to do your taxes, you might as well do them while sitting in a tree

It's wrong in saying that the last frame is them molting, it's clearly smiting, like the previous frames are also representing the last word in that frame

Thank you! With xkcd I often think: am I too dumb or is this just not my humour. In this case it's the latter. So I guess I'm smat after all! S M A T!

S M A T!

It's S M R T, dumbass.

.../s in case that wasn't clear

I wonder if the last panel is a reference to the Hobbit out of the frying pan and into the fire. Gotta smite those wargs from the trees!

[-] Tag365@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Whaling on a tree? That would be incredibly shocking. What trees are even close enough to an ocean to whale catch from?

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago

Need to take a tree on the whaling ship
