I can’t speak for everyone but myself, but I would prefer if our species avoided total self-own.
Climate
Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.
As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades:

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world:

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:

Anti-science, inactivism, and unsupported conspiracy theories are not ok here.
I think that train has sailed, so to speak.
Well, depends on how you define "total self-own" I guess. We probably aren't going to go extinct – unless we eg. run into a Black Swan event and suddenly find ourselves doing a speedrun to a more Venusian climate – but even if we went carbon negative right at this second, we've pumped enough energy into the climate system that shit's likely going to go sideways pretty spectacularly anyhow. Not a total total self-own, but a lot of people are going to die either directly or indirectly
They will not devide us. They will not devide us and so on and so forth.
