Anyone criticizing with "why do you put x on there but not y" allow me to introduce you to creating your own original content, you can put whoever you want on a picture! It's within your power!
I suppose that might direct the attention of people like you towards yourselves, and that would be awful wouldn't it?
Maybe think on the previous line a bit before you post your criticism, and ask yourself why you haven't made and posted the list the way you'd like it to be.
Reminds me of people harassing the Ladybird browser devs for declining a PR that changed "he" to "they" in the build steps. If you really cared, you would make meaningful contributions to the project before virtue signaling on a text file
Edit: as an aside, I know of an open source project that is only one or two steps away from being affiliated with Nazis. A transgender woman started contributing and now all those Nazi friends respect her. That's how you actually change minds - not by Reeing with zero effort.

We need to hold people like these in high regard as a society not the constant rotation of pop stars. Funny thing is I can't think of any women that belong on this though most of my teachers were women and they had a profound effect on my life. Dr Ruth Westheimer maybe?
Dr. Ruth for sure. Ms. Frizzle is fictional but deserves recognition. An argument could be made for Julia Child, and Dolly Parton is not primarily known for her free book program but it is incredible.

He's more of an actor.
I'd be pretty pissed off all the time if I spent years trying to educate children just to watch more than half of them grow up to be complete morons.
Particularly if you’d been talking about climate change for several decades and getting mocked and ignored by morons.
I've also heard that he gets approached a lot by weirdos asking odd questions. Specifically, at one talk, during the Q and A portion, getting asked highly technical questions by adults who grew up watching him and expecting him to be able to respond. I wouldn't put too much weight on what randos on the Internet have to say about his character.

He did shill for Coca-Cola, which isn't a great look.
He also had some bad takes in his more recent show, but people are too ready to believe random people on the internet on matters of character when they've, at max, only talked to him for 5 minutes. He's has a net positive impact and people would better to find other targets for their energy.
I didn't grew up with bill because that's a very american thing, i only knew him from memes. I watched his netflix show when it aired and all i could think is that he seems like an absolute cunt.
I haven't seen his netflic show, because why have a netflix account? Anyway, he was promoting education all his life and now we're nose diving into a ecological collapse for reasons he warned us about. I would be a little cross as well by now.
