If he's going back to "ancient law" shouldn't he also recognize he's standing on stolen land belonging to native Americans prior to European arrival?

[-] protist@mander.xyz 32 points 1 month ago

No, no, no, not that ancient law! The ancient law that gets me what I want

[-] geekworking@lemmy.world 32 points 1 month ago

The book that he should be looking for is a 3rd grade grammar textbook.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 26 points 1 month ago

That book of ancient law is really going to help them out.

[-] some_guy 14 points 1 month ago

Are you saying the laws in 3000BCE Mesopotamia can’t help him get rich right now? How many library books did you read today? I rest my case.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

I admit I hadn't considered the Hammurabic Method of Revenue Generation.

You just blew my mind by introducing me to a new aspect of history that wasn't familiar to me. I love history, so thank you! Also, that wasn't a library book citation, so check-mate bitch!

/s you know I love ya

Wait! You're telling me that there is supposed to be some cohesion to that word salad?!

I'd like to make a sovcit chat bot that just spews this nonsense when you ask it a question.

Reminds me of a certain side quest in Cyberpunk...

[-] Gerudo@lemm.ee 18 points 1 month ago

The irony of them not wanting to pay taxes etc., yet using a public library.

This is my new go to:

I was confused until I realized they used the wrong "there". Then I was just a little less confused, but still confused.

[-] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

I used to be confused by their inane ramblings. I still am confused, but I used to be too.

[-] troyunrau@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

Ghost of Mitch, how are ya?

[-] Red_October@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

"Confirmed what I already knew." I'm sure that was with some detailed research into the breadth of the subject involving the reinforcement of a robust understanding, right? Surely it wasn't something like... finding a couple legal sounding books, and finding a few words in those books they understood, before taking some pictures they thought suggested research and calling it good!

What a beautiful mind

I have a feeling that the condition of his brain isn't on Terra Firma.

I wish I could convince my self of anything half as well as these people convince themselves of their own bullshit.
