German, gotta go with Netherlands.
Love that we speak a bastardized version of each others languages, which allows us to somewhat reliably hold conversations without needing to use English and the likes.

Austria is even easier.

No wonder they need to pray so much in the heilige Land... For a cure for their throat issues....
As a Czech I'd have to say Slovakia, of course 🌲
As a Slovak, i have to say Czechia of course 🥹🫡
Netherlands as a German
For me it's Italy.
Just the food would be enough, but then there is the weather, the charm of the cities and small towns, the culture... Can't wait to go back.
I regularly say how nice France would be if it wasn't full of French people 😂
Finland. Definitely the most beautiful country in Europe I have ever visited. Warm summers and freezing cold winters. People that accept "hermits" like me. I might have been a Finn in a former life. Also so many gorgeous lakes. Only downside: mosquitoes, these vile creatures own half of the country.
I'm from Germany and I haven't had the opportunity to travel a lot. So I feel like I don't know enough about any other European country to make such a decision. Damn I couldn't even say which is the nicest region to live in Germany.
But as an European I do appreciate the opportunity to live and work in any EU country and to travel safely and without the need of a passport within the Schengen area. So that's a good thing.

Definitely. I have some non-EU colleagues, they envy us a lot for that
As an Italian I loved Spain so much
Funny, I now live in Spain and love Italy ha ha
As a northern german I have to say northern Italy. The nature, the food, mthe weather and the culture. I love it!
Portugal
I think I'm the first one to say it, but yes, as an Austrian I pick Germany. Living here since many years now, and a few more to come. It's not always perfect, but every country has its disadvantages I believe.
From the mountains of Bavaria to the coastlines in the North, life here is good 😃
Austria, as a Finn. The mountains, culture, and of course Schnitzel mit Stiegl!
German here. Probably Croatia? Balkans with heavy Roman influence is just a very solid combo. You get the good food that isn't entirely meat (looking at you, Bosnia) but also the good booze. Also Adriatic sea, Roman ruins, landscape and the people are generally super nice.
I do find myself returning to Latvia every few years. Baltics seem all very chill.
I'm from switzerland and i adore finland!
(from Spain) Id have to say Denmark (Copenhagen specifically), just so great a city, people.
Norway, so many beautiful fjords and mountains!
(More or less)German who traveled to almost all countries of the EU/Europe: Italy with Romania being a close contender.
The combination of mountains and sea always gets me, but Italy wins by having those two combined more closely and the food being a slight bit more refined. The Danube Delta always beats the Po Delta, but both are still phantastic. Finland and Portugal are Nr. 3 and 4 on my list.
Austria is also nice, depending on the region. Oberösterreich and Kärnten can bite my shiny metall ass, but Vienna, Niederösterreich, Tirol, Vorarlberg are nice.
For some reason Iceland, Denmark and the Netherland are simply not my thing without me being able to describe why - I did not not enjoy them. But... They were always kind of "unmemorable", maybe to easy, to similar to Germany, I don't know.
Italian here, I would say Portugal. For some reason I just kind of felt at home there
Netherlands as a UKain
As a Swede, Finland. Closely tied with Norway and Denmark.. Obama giving medal to self.jpg
Czechia. Lived there for a couple of years for no real reason at all loved it.
I still have to go, I did Budapest and Vienna, I heard Prague is beautiful too
I love the Nordic countries but so far I've only visited Denmark and Sweden. I love the people, culture, food, nature there. So Finland, Iceland and Norway are definitely on my bucket list as well. I'm from The Netherlands.
From Italy, I didn't have a chance to truly spend much time in other countries, but I loved northern Germany. And northern France. And Latvia.
Maybe I just like colder countries.
Each has its own merit. I really struggle not Picking my own. It's central, big and decent.
I'll go with Switzerland.
Switzerland, I just love the nature (Mountains and Lakes 😍) and Hiking and Swimming. And as someone that also likes Public Transit/dislikes driving a car the reliable and incredibly dense public transit network is also something that I would love to have in Germany. Here you always play the daily Deutsche Bahn Lottery and pick wether your AC/Toilet is defect, or wether half the ordered capacity in your commuter train is missing, and you will have some group cuddling or the train doesn't come at all, and the promised replacement bus is nowhere to be seen.
I love many things about Bulgaria. The nature, the lively city centers and the overall vibes in the cities.
I'm from Germany and I truly wish our cities had some Bulgarian vibes.
We're planning a trip soon, any hidden highlights?
@Oneser@lemm.ee My biggest tip is to take a look at 100 nto. It lists 100 interesting touristic objects all over Bulgaria. It leads you to many smaller but great places. Google maps has an slightly outdated overlay that shows these places. At most of them you can get a small Booklet. In it you can collect stamps from each visited place.
Some specific places that come to my mind are:
If you have any specific questions like rental cars or acoomodation feel free to ask here or write me a private message.
I am german. I loved slovenia, albania and iceland for both, lovely people and amazing nature.
I haven’t traveled even nearly enough, but I’ve had a really good time in Spain, specifically Barcelona. Switzerland too.
I really like Amsterdam, but for the weather I'd go with Malta.
I'd say Czechia or Slovakia. I had a great time in both countries !
As a German I have to say Spain. Especially the north around Galicia. The country has such a diverse culture and each region feels different.
