I smoked cigarettes for 30 years. I say this is a good thing to do and far overdue.

Ditto and ditto

Still addicted (planning to work on that after I've dealt with my employment situation). I always try to avoid forcing my smoke in people's faces and I support this measure.

Typical nanny state

My house isn't inside a school or a hospital, therefore I can't even smoke in my own home. Absolutely raging.

E: Christ. Sad day when a sarcasm tag is clearly needed on a UK community. /s for the people who didn't get it.

I get the sarcasm now but for some reason, I first interpreted the second sentence as a smoker too angry to proofread after fumbling their words.

You'll find other ways to poison yourself and make you smell gross.

Thank you for your input, I'm sure you smell great bro all natural sweat and dog shit not like those "kids these days" and their fruity fumes amirite?

Shocking. I have a small studio flat (it's not much but comfortable) in a surgical operating theatre but will they let me incinerate tyres in an old oil drum? No, they will not!

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
