I've done this with bread while not paying attention, but that waffle would have tricked me too. Gross.
eh, just remember that people eat cheese with mold so if you don't suffer any serious health effects then no reason to be too mad at yourself for it.
Ah yes, as we know mold is flavourless and odourless. There was simply no way to tell, and this story is super plausible.
