A few minutes ago I made a joke about Hulk Hogan heading the FBI. If that happens - I better stop making jokes about Trump. I'm not even trying to use the lathe.

It's too late now, the lathe is using you

I hear a tapping at my chamber door. ’Tis some visitor - only this and nothing more?

I'm getting really sick of the idiocracy comparisons they've been wrong for a while but at this point the movie is borderline idyllic.

They have a problem so they ask smart people who to solve it and they tell a giant corporation to fuck off and address a climate crisis.

If idiocracy was real life half the country would call the main character a cuck for saying plants need water and then they'd appoint the ceo of brawndo to come up with a solution. The solution would be for the government to buy all the brawndo and start an irrigation program. When that doesn't work they woukd say it was because they let gay people get married so they have to start executing them to caue the rapture.

wonder what its like to be picked for a spot they want to eliminate. oh wait, she doesnt care, she's in on the grift.

I'm retired and I'd bet my entire life savings that the Trump administration is going to have a clearly insane grift based on vouchers or something*. Trump will say "We're gonna end the Department of Education and that's good 'cause people can use vouchers to go to better schools." And McMahon win be deeply in on it somehow. Maybe she'll call her org WWEducation.

---

Edit

Cummunism made an excellent point.

not even republicans like school vouchers

They'll have to come up with a new system or maybe just different branding. My hunch is that it will be effectively vouchers but they'll give it another name like SchoolChoice or FreedomEducation something.

Linda be choke slamming teachers who ask for a pay raise.

[–] Cummunism@hexbear.net 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

not even republicans like school vouchers, plus im pretty sure that is solely a state issue for the most part? All i know is Kentucky voted against even making school vouchers an idea(it was an amendment just to approve the possibility of a plan, to allow the legislature to discuss it.) In a state as deeply red and stupid as KY i was surprised it got voted down.

"school choice" is already the current euphemism, they'd have to either come up with something else or just hope slapping trump's name on it pushes it over the line

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 22 points 2 months ago

nope my bad, she got a smaller post running the small business association and stepped down to run Trump's PAC in 2019

There are a lot of needed critiques and changes of American education. Elementary to University level, all of it needs a lot of necessary changes and reexaminations. McMahon will not do any of those things and because she has rocks in her skull, she would make education worse. I'm so glad our two-party system made us pick between Super Evil and Turbo Evil, so glad I had a choice on the ballot.

Also I love how even if you did hold your nose and vote for kamala (couldn't be me) you still get fucked over AND blamed because she ate shit so hard, because we were all right (again) and she was totally unelectable.

Turns out that running a dogshit candidate and telling people you don't need their vote is a bad strategy.

Issue is more what the states do anyway. But not like she's gonna stop the shift to privatization

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

Lol kids should start protesting going to school saying they're already objectively smarter than the secretary of education.

Have "are you smarter than a 5th grader" except whatever level she fails at is the level that's considered completing your education.
