  • Razor: Mühle Rocca R94
  • Blade: Perma-Sharp Super [5]

Excellent lather, incredible shave, and refreshing aftershave. I need to use Two Kings more often.

  • Brush: Chisel & Hound Gulf Short 26mm V22 Fanchurian

  • Razor: Frederick Reynolds "The Celebrated" 4/8 Hollow Ground

  • Lather: 345 Soaps - Undercut - Soap

  • Aftershave: 345 Soaps - Undercut - Aftershave

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Wonderful shave celebrating the last race of the Formula 1 season. (Undercut is an F1 term.) This little Fredrick Reynolds is quite the racecar of a razor :)

Sun 08 Dec 2024

  • Brush: Rubberset 400-3 with unbleached 26 mm Zenith knot set at 56 mm loft
  • Razor: C. V. Heljestrand MK № 31 (square point, full hollow, 5/8", carbon steel)
  • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann – Nocturne
  • Fragrance: Southern Witchcrafts – Autumn Ash

I leaned into the season today with this Nocturne Ash combo. Really enjoyed lathering with the strong backbone on this brush and got a nice shave with the butter smooth Heljestrand. The SW base is really great.

  • Brush: Wolf Whiskers – "Gianmaria" w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
  • Razor: EldrormR Industries MM24
  • Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (1)
  • Lather: Declaration Grooming - Original - Soap (Bison)
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Santa Noir - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Goodfellow & Co. - Face Lotion - Kelp & Sea Mineral

The MM24 is way more aggressive than what I prefer, but boy is it efficient! Got some weepers, but nothing too bad.

House of Mammoth is closed for the season, making this aftershave 100% unobtanium.

The Koraat was sharp, but not comfortable. I tried to correct this, and sure enough, sharpness decreased.

Have a good evening!

Ouch. Is this Koraat being difficult to maintain?

It's probably just me - I'm not particularly gifted with smiling edges. And the fact that I didn't have much time today certainly didn't help.

You will see yourself with the moarteen!

Do you think it's different from the Schweinchen's smile?

I don't quite remember - but the 14.2 has a strange profile that I don't think the Piggy has - it gets thinner like a normal hollow grind, but than has some kind of kite-shaped thickening in it (it is clearly visible in the first photo on the link in my SOTD post).

That's the "belly". Lots of hollow grounds have one. You're right that it's minimal on the Schweinchen.
