Why did I look it up? All I found was this:

https://m.webcomicsapp.com/comic/Ropeman/5dc75ff05f48c30be72db213

Edit: WARNING, I'm pretty sure it's Yaoi, which I definitely know nothing about.

Yeah, I wasn’t going to click that anyway. I don’t like the way some people use the word, "rope."

[–] Xanthrax@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I used to be a boy scout. I love "ropes" and "tying knots." 😏

Don't forget his side kick fistman...

I don’t think I’ve ever read or watched anything because it was relatable.

At least not started, but if the characters behave too unnatural, it upsets me and I lose interest. One should be able to relate to the characters and not constantly be irritated by their actions.

if the characters behave too unnatural

My wife doesn't get this.

I can't stand watching some movies because every part of the movie is just one character doing something unnatural or outright insane that nobody would ever do, and the people around them react in similarly unnatural and insane ways.

And certain old movies (especially holiday oriented ones) that lean heavily into the "everyone here is a bumbling idiot" trope crank this up to 11.

If you enjoy said things, awesome. Good for you. Keep watching them, it literally does not affect me. I'm genuinely glad you have entertainment. I just won't watch it with you.

Yeah, this is a big part of why I don't want TV shows anymore. If I want something ridiculous, I'll just play video games, which I expect to be ridiculous and unrelatable. Some movies are worthwhile though, and they tend to be better IMO than most TV shows (I really liked the new The Best Christmas Pageant Ever).

What did you think of Shoot 'em Up?

[–] dragonfucker@lemmy.nz 3 points 2 months ago

Abbot and Costello movies have every character be a fool and it's great.

You must hate Monty Python's works and similar comedies.

I also wonder if your judgements of what is unnatural and impossible are accurate. I get the feeling you'd judge a lot of real life experiences as unnatural and impossible.

[–] kemsat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I must be weird then, because I don’t like it when I can relate. I want it to be detached from reality enough that it’s hard to relate to it.

The office hit home for me for a few years. I worked in sales 🤢

Half of all superheroes have blatant copies, and the other half are blatant copies themselves

Imagine having to do the cum face and sound whenever swinging from a building. He’d go a lot slower too where he has to break for 15 minutes each time. And as he got older the breaks between would be longer.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

he'd be shooting dust by the time he reached the end of the street

Could also be his nemesis chainguy. It's too low resolution to tell.

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Oh man, don't tell me it's one of the comics from the terrible Xerox Saga where Chainguy temporarily took up his mantle.
