Devil's Advocate:

It would be easier to protect all the CEOs (there are probably less than 100 of the "very important" ones), than thousands of schools across the country.

I mean, at least that's gonna be the excuse the government will use, I guarantee it.

The real reason is: Why even bother protect the kids when a national abortion ban is gonna guarantee more to replenish them. As someone famously said: "One person's death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic." Seems like the government has been learning new quotes.
