"Who does not work, should not eat". It makes sense if we talk about socialism, but in capitalism it is reactionary. This picture shows exactly that.

Capitalist propaganda can be quite effective. I encountered people who really think that way. In Germany they talk now about forcing people to work, which receive welfare (Money if you are unemployed). You get offered jobs and if you decline one without an " acceptable " reasons, you will get far less money or ang money at all. So you are getting forced to work in even the worst work environment and worst pay.

It is normal in other parts of the world, but the working class managed to archive many many things in Germany, especially better social security. Normally even discussing about such reactionary stuff would lead to a bad reaction from workers, unions and even from the SPD. But now it is getting more and more normal.

It is dream for capitalist. Some users in reddit comments told me, that there is so much work to do in Germany and there is no reason to be unemployed. If you ask further, they are often struggling petite bourgeois, having a company with 50 workers or less. Of course the bourgeoisie appreciate it, the can save a lot of money. The perfect scenario would of course be having slaves, like in the third reich.

Often it leaves a bad taste seeing how Germany starts again doing stuff they did in the past. Salami tactic.

Wait, I knew about it back in Crysis 2 and 3.

but have you considered that if I do choose to get exploited, I am able to keep a very small part of the value I create and use it to purchase any one of fifty-seven brands of corn flakes

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

not only that, but you can have all the freeze peach that you can handle

Yes, there is that too. You can still get in trouble for saying stuff that opposes imperialism, but you can purchase any one of fifty-seven brands of frozen peaches. :P

I find the specific dynamic is that you can say anything you want as long as it doesn't translate into material action. That is the line that cannot be crossed.

Well, partly I'm thinking of like people who lost jobs or journalists who got temporarily locked up over speaking out for Palestine. But those two are maybe a bit different, one is the corporate wing punishing people and the other is the state wing punishing people, and you're probably right that for the most part, the state wing only goes after regular non-specialist roles like a journalist if they're taking action. Or I guess we could say it's like, the amount of perceived threat (to the empire) of what you do is directly correlated to how quickly they sweep aside their "free speech" spiel.

yeah that's a good way to put it

Sometimes you won't even have the choice to be exploited! In cases like this, you can choose to die on the street! Behold, the unparalleled efficiency of the free market!

Milton Friedman: some of you may die to prevent inflation, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/non-accelerating-rate-unemployment.asp
