Throughout the pre and post-election Democrat collaborationism debacle I've come to the conclusion that Americans don't deserve to be saved from themselves partially because of this nonsense (easy decision to make when I don't live there, I know). Like we all know the definition of insanity right? Why are y'all repeating the same things that got you in this mess in the first place?

I really want to leave the country. I thought I’d stay and fight… for years I thought having a bunch of friends and community around me would save us. But a bunch of personal issues this year showed me who my true friends are and there’s very few… the community I thought I have it turns out I don’t.
The only thing keeping me back is $ and my mother who would be tough to move. I can’t even get her to move to my state, let alone to another country especially one that doesn’t speak English.
What’s wild is I have a “ticket out” so to speak professionally and I’d probably be able to at least get a temporary work visa in a bunch of countries. Oh! And my ticket out isn’t a fancy job - it’s a seasonal one that requires very little professional education in the grand scheme of things. Americans who want to leave the country - look into seasonal work! You don’t have to be rich software developer with a fancy remote job to leave…
I long considered Canada except I think Canada is just a decade or so behind the US in terms of a slide towards fascism. But maybe I’m wrong. I think trumps bullshit with Canada right now is at least partially to get Canadians to hate us so we don’t move there. But Canada would be the place my mom would be most open to moving to, except for the fact that Canada probably wouldn’t want her (she’s on social security and the work she does isn’t applicable to Canada).
There’s a chance if things get bad enough my state will rebel and perhaps even try to secede and join Canada if they’ll take us. I believe we voted the least out of any state for trump and we’re a border state with a history of independence from the US. But will the feds let us leave peacefully? Doubtful.
So, what exactly are you doing differently now?
I mean I don't even live or have anything to do with America. Defending ideas I support on the internet is just something I do for entertainment. However, what I would do if I was part of this mess is join a progressive third party and get them to run for local and state office, maybe snatch a few progressive candidates from the Democrats, and start contesting elections.
Since you don't live in America I won't castigate you, but the idea of putting together a 3rd party in less than 24 months before the next election is like saying we should build a moon rocket in 24 months.
Third parties already exist; you don't need to make ine from scratch. That aside, I know it's impossible to contest federal office in 24 months, but you can have people enter local—and if things go well state—elections.

So FDR for all his faults didn't fund a genocide, but that aside that's straight up not what I'm talking about. I'm not saying the Dems' faults are too big to ignore; I'm saying that, being liberal centrists, they can't stop fascism as we've seen these past 9 years. This isn't a moral judgement; it's a statement of fact that you're not engaging with.
Now there's a bigger genocide in Gaza and a genocide in Ukraine and a concentration camp for immigrants in Gitmo.

There's (at this point in time, anyway) nothing except talk of the concept of a plan of a genocide in Gaza, but that aside will you just engage with my point already? This is literally not the point I'm trying to make.

Hey if you've seen that, that's great. I've never had it happen when people who called me a Russian bot for saying known documented things and wanting the Democrats to change their messaging to win against Trump because they'll lose otherwise.
The kind of person who shuts out any criticism or citations with "RUSSIAN BOT" are the same people who refuse to listen to anything they weren't told by their favorite rich person. We call them Blue MAGA for a reason. They just replace "woke" with "tankie" or "russian bot". The only thing different is the color of the party and it's name.

The joke is that, according to the cartoonist, America has never been the "good guy." Donald Trump did not invent America "bad guy" status. The Gitmo prisoners remind the seated newspaper reader about "American bad guy stuff" that happened (or at least started) before Trump was a political force.
The prisoners are missing their MAGA tattoos.
