I can feel that picture - complete with bottle cap landmines from my roommate who was a treat to live with.

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Which fallout character was your roommate?

[–] MonkeMischief@lemmy.today 6 points 1 week ago

Sounds like an absolute ghoul. :p

The one that was convinced that wrestling was real. There's one of those right?

I can smell it

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And it'll hold up about as well as modern furniture.

[–] fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Pro tip: add a bead of glue when assembling furniture, it’ll hold up way better

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Big brain: make your furniture out of glue so it is incredibly sturdy

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 week ago

It worked for cybertruck.

IKEA furniture and wood glue. Known trick for making it a lot sturdier.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago

A lot of our furniture is second hand as it felt sturdier than Ikea stuff. Might consider that option though if we need something we can't find second hand.

[–] saltnotsugar@lemm.ee 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

IKEA hates this one weird trick.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Considering this furniture is water resistant and doesn't turn into wet saw dust when something spills on it...

[–] CrazyLikeGollum@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Unless that "something" contains acetone, gasoline, diesel, or a number of other solvents. Then it turns into napalm.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Just do some errands for your neighbors and shake a few trees and you'll upgrade from the starter furniture in no time.

That's basically a palace

It's kinda insane how cheap TVs are if you can ignore black levels.

Putting those avocado-toast millenials to shame! /s

[–] Shou@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Ugh. I hate that foam stuff. Someone left it outside of the garbage comtainers. Not whole, but in broken pieces. The wind dispersed it further. We saw an abandoned shopping cart and used it to collect the pieces and throw it in with the plastic. Better there than in the park. It was awful.

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 5 points 1 week ago

You are giving me too much inspiration.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I too was annoyed about half of the package being stiropor. At least use air cushions or carton triangles or something. Way easier to dispose.
