Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The guy who broke Twitter by firing everyone, then scrambling to hire people back, then repeating that same pattern in government, has no business casting aspersions on other people.

In this case it is 100% fair and accurate. Navarro has championed these tariffs for years now

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Except Elon knew tariffs were coming while supporting Trump like this. The only reason he’s complaining is because people aren’t buying his shit anymore and I’m sure he’s also trying to pretend like he totally cares.

Pot kettle black

To be fair if you polled the Kent Clark Center/Initiative on Global Markets, which is a collection of the most preeminent economists hosted by the University of Chicago, you would almost certainly have the same result.

Pete Navarro might be an idiot, but what about Ron Vara, the expert that Pete Navarro cited in all his books.

[–] And009@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 6 days ago

Came down to comments expect this Navarro guy to be some genius but the fascist was 'right'?

Weird how those photo ops they're going to do together keep getting cancelled.

Kind of like John Barron and Donald Trump or Superman and Clark Kent.

Peter Navarro is 420 friendly? Had no idea but tracks.

I guess a power grab doesn't work out as well as you want when you put the most selfish people around into positions of power. I know I'm being optimistic, but I hope they keep getting mad at each other.

And it's not an excuse to get complacent either. We need to keep the momentum with protesting.

It’s always projection with this guy

[–] RowRowRowYourBot@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

In this case he is correct. Ask any economist about Navarro and you will likely be told the same

Something, something, stopped clock...

You know what they say about broken clocks

[–] Zerlyna@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Yes. For once he’s right.

Paul Rand is also breaking...

Watching a CNBC interview right now where he's wearing blue everything and apparently trying to get a crazier hairstyle than trump.

They're all gonna start positioning for 2028, like, people keep saying trump will three term, but that ignores how selfish Republicans are. A shit ton of them want to take trumps place, and they can't do it while he's still in office.

I think after they get routed in midterms, we'll see them completely fracture. Everyone that was fighting to take credit will fight to assign blame.

[–] ShittyBeatlesFCPres@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

He’s not going to be able to run for a third term. Even if somehow no one stops him, he already looks more like Slimer from Ghostbusters than a living human and his brain clearly isn’t any different.

[–] krf@szmer.info 1 points 6 days ago

Why would he need a working brain?
