Brought to you by the company who put literal root kits on their audio CDs that silently installed when you listened to your music on your PC.

ZoneAlarm was so upset with me that day...

Corporations would prefer to take away your right to public utilities than face a loss to their profit margin.

Losses brought by their own stupid incompetence and greed

[–] I_am_10_squirrels@beehaw.org 11 points 2 months ago

It's not even a loss. If I pirate it, they lost nothing because I wasn't going to buy it anyways.

So they also wish to stop people being able to find jobs that would enable people to pay for their monopoly, prevent them from access the marketplaces where those same people would have a chance to buy their products? Now who's hurting potential earnings?

Oh, I know. Just felt like pointing that amidst all the Dr Evil maniacal laughing, they forgot to consider how stupid the plan is.

No one in the recording industry has ever considered how stupid their plans are. If they did, they would stop constantly giving piracy free advertising.

Of course. If you upset the overlords, you don't deserve to live. But they wouldn't admit it publicly (for now), so they go the roundabout way. Next, they could cut off your electricity too, maybe ask your bank to freeze your account, cancel your cards, oh and maybe Sony can take over your house too.

Genuinely wouldn't surprise me. Time to hoist the sails and borrow us a house, YAAAR 🏴‍☠️

The Court doesn't even hide its unfairness. This isn't good.

Ah yes, rules for thee but not for me. Excuse me while I engage my bank account and monopolistic powers to purchase a majority in media delivery companies, patents, trademarks, and label contracts. No don't stop me from buying everything, that would be communist.
