Yeah but what do you when you're always using all of your energy on survival?

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of being burnt out all the time. I've tried medication; I've tried therapy; I've tried changing my habits. Nothing helps. Having ADHD sucks; it's so much worse than simply forgetting everything all the time.

Give up and become a hermit. None cares how a hermit performs.

The fact that I'm making it through this administration without falling into total depression is really saying something. I chalk it all up to being a good relationship. Plus kitties.

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yep kitties help most things

[–] some_guy 2 points 3 weeks ago

They sure do.

If you aren't enjoying it, you are not lazy but battling executive disfunction.

I have to admit.. I am actually sometimes very lazy.

I'll text my son to come to the living room, because I don't wanna get up and turn the light off 😈

Home automation could save you multiple button presses each day.

Signed,
Fellow lazy person.

Yep. We have loads of lights around here and I can fire up the entire front of the house with a single command.

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I would love that but my apartment is of historical value and we aren't allowed to change or update anything 🥲

Bummer. Can they stop you from buying a desk or floor lamp and installing a smart bulb?

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is it that easy? Idk a lot about this stuff, but I'm not even allowed to hang pictures without written concent.

[–] Fuck_u_spez_@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yep, it doesn't take more than a few minutes to set one up. You don't even need a central hub anymore, just wifi and a smartphone.

[–] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh! I've actually tried this once! I had just forgotten xD

Unfortunatly it didn't work, our wifi iirc 2.5 and for the light we needed 5

A WiFi extender that, properly configured, will re-broadcast your existing network and/or a separate 2.4GHz signal is about $25.

wym "anything"? you can't install new bulbs and just have to live in the darkness if they ever break?

presumably there's actually fair bit of things you can modify, especially since it doesn't have to be even remotely permanent.

[–] pixeltree@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago

I'm using all my energy to hate myself

I'm imagining the world worst roommate saying this to get out of dishes for the tenth time
