Honestly, good. Let's drain the labor and talent away from states that are discriminatory and don't appreciate it.

I think an even better option could be moving away from the US.

Two of my kids, one of whom is trans and her wife (also trans) moved to Vancouver, Washington in December. The plans went into effect after the election. My youngest is also trans and he is going to follow them after saving up some more money.

I will feel so much better after they are all out of the shit hole state of Texas.

I didn't feel safe to even start my transition 'til I got out of that hellhole.

Literally just moved to Seattle for this reason

Come to Washington. But make sure you make it West of the Cascades!

Illinois beats a southern state by a long shot!

Looking at my options here; assuming you're living in illinois from that comment, how safe is it? is it just relatively blue in general, or just in the city?

I'm currently in Ohio and its pretty damned red and i hate it. The casual awfulness people will spout to a complete stranger frankly disgusts me on occasion

Rural southern Illinois is red af. Basically Indiana lite. Chicago is safe. Don't know much about other parts.

I don’t live there but I know they’re a blue trifecta and is one of the cheapest progressive states that has decent protections for trans folks.

NM is cool af we have mutual aid, punk rock, and gays.

This is good, but not good enough. We need to get people out of the fascist dictatorship.
