Adding it to the list!
You might like the Shin Megami Tensei games. 4 and Apocalypse? And Bravely Default? Give me a sec to look through my home brewed 3DS and refresh my memory. It's a great system.
Edit: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate! Kirby Planet Robobot! The Legend of Zelda a Link Between Worlds!
Thanks! Definitely need to get on the MH train, and i THOUGHT i had that Kirby game but guess i didnt
Robobot is actually one of the best Kirbys
Downloading now!
Those are great, and I'd add the Etrian Odyssey and Persona Q games on there, too.
My ass is getting proper whooped in the tutorial dungeon in SMT4.
I haven't even gotten this far yet. The samurai asked me to capture three demons and I haven't been able to make it back alive. When I try to talk to the fairy it slaps me like 20 times and I lose all my health.
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Mario and Luigi Bowser's inside story (my favorite in the series)
Mario and Luigi Dream Team (fun sequel)
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (really good remake of an old fire emblem game)
Fire Emblem Awakening (first of the modern fire emblem games)
Kirby: Planet Robobot (really good kirbo )
What are the two Mario games like?
Also, ive never played a Fire Emblem game, are there any that are more action and less tactical?

Final Fantasy Tactics: Grimoire of the Rift is a tactics game, but a lot more forgiving than the fire emblem series, so I would say it's more action oriented (you can replay missions to grind exp, you can dual-class units for team coverage and there's no permadeath iirc, unlike ffta which had the jadgds where units could die (though they were also pretty easy to avoid with a decent white mage on the team), I really enjoyed it
The mario and luigi series are turn based rpgs where you control mario and luigi individually (mario with the A button Luigi with B) its pretty fun especially in the combat
All mainline fire emblem games are turn based tactical games, FE warriors is a hack and slash action game (its a lot like dynasty warriors if you have heard of it)
I'll give a fire emblem game a go, but im more of an action/platforming kind of girl. That said, if i can get a handle on it easily enough, I'd probably stick with it!
Pushmo
My favourite are the Ace Attorney games (all of them) but they've now been ported to PC so don't necessarily need a 3DS anymore.
yesss ace attorney is so good!
I think they even have phone ports for some of the games. Crazy to think these started as Japan-only GBA releases!
The Guild series on the 3DS are fantastic - they're all short little games made by legendary Japanese game designers. Attack of the Friday Monsters! is probably my favorite of the bunch, but there's a little something for everyone in those games.
Edit: adding a few "normal" games, too
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is a cool remake of AC2. There's silly Mario skins for the planes, too.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is probably one of my favorites in the franchise. Lovingly made remake of FE Gaiden.
Sick ty!
NP - you hit a bunch of the bangers in your original post. Tried to recommend a few off the beaten path.
Liberation Maiden from the Guild series plays similarly to KIU with a mecha anime theme. Might be a good starting point if you're still hungry for that style of action game.
Picross 3D 2 (1 is on the original DS) is great if you like puzzles.
Actually, just looked around for an English Liberation Maiden file that works with Azarha (the new name for Lime3DS i guess) and can't find anything working. You have a good copy?
I've only played on original hardware, but does the hshop work for you?
I've grabbed a few things from there and think I just need to switch over to Citra from this other emulator im using. Will try more tomorrow!
Thanks! Yeah, I haven't owned a Nintendo system since i was a kid, so there's a ton I missed out on. Having a blast catching up!
I didn't play ghost trick but my brother enjoyed it. I also liled the professor layton series cos they make you feel smart (they're nostly brain teasers/puzzles in a veneer of a point and click victorian-era murder mystery story). Does Pokemon Conquest count as Pokemon? It's a Pokemon skin of the Nobunaga's Ambition tactics series https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobunaga%27s_Ambition
Also i really don't distinguish between ds and 3ds titles so I forget which are which
Bravely Default. Play with 3D on
Im on a retroid so idk that i can? Unless it's just like a screen thing. Using Citra and Azarha if that helps
I doubt theres a way without some very specific know-how.
On that note, there will be a couple Super Mario 3D Land Puzzles thay will confuse the hell out of you without 3D, and Pushmo will be unplayable.
Also, Mighty Switch Force and its sequel aren't bad.
What's Mighty Switch Force? And noted, ill see how far I can get in 3d land
I had a 3ds solely to play monster hunter lol
doa dimensions is probably the best handheld fighting game of all time, but that bar is real low.
Ooo do like me some DOA
Radiant Historia is one of my favorite RPGs
Dragon Quest 8
Professor Layton series
Rune Factory 4 is pretty alright, if you like Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon, though if you don't like anime stuff you probably won't like it (but since you mentioned Kid Icarus it will probably be fine).
Bravely Default is probably one of my favourite RPGs, great soundtrack and a ton of QOL features that other RPGs don't bother with (like setting the encounter rate, setting battles to auto to grind, and getting extra exp for beating battles quickly) it is fairly grindy though and one of the main characters is a sexpest (once again, anime bullshit).
Also, not a 3ds game, a gameboy advance game, but the mario tennis on gba is way better, it's a full on tennis RPG and it is great.
Oh shit a Mario tennis rpg sounds sick im gonna grab that right now
I've heard good things about Kirby Robobot but haven't played much myself.
Short but sweet, the Sunset Shores romhack is a nice little experience.
Sunset shores looks right up my alley!
