Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

I saw a commercial yesterday that was Israel advertising for the war with Iran. Get that propaganda off my tv.

It was Netanyahu’s voice talking about reasons for striking Iran overlayed on top of images that were straight up propaganda. I’ll try to find the video somewhere and post it here if I do. It seemed like it was just trying to convince the American people that the strikes on Iran are necessary.
This is the only article that I could find talking about it. It has different examples than the one that I saw though. I’m guessing the ones in the article are more catered towards Europeans https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/06/19/iranian-missiles-could-strike-europe-warn-israeli-ads/

Israel fighting for anyone's rights is so fucking laughable
Sometimes I worry that Israel comes off as a bit xenophobic, and in that context may not recognize the rights of others.
Islam is hell for women but this is a thin veneer of lies to justify something he already wanted to do. I hope one day no Muslim women exist because Islam hates women so deeply they realize no loving or reasonable god would create a system reliant on their subjugation and leave.

I really don't know how to fight the obvious propaganda. It seems like it would help if we had a news media that could and would call it like it is but we'll never see headlines like "Netanyahu uses blatantly hollow rhetoric to try to justify a genocidal war he started in a desperate attempt to stay in power".
I don’t know why obvious propaganda works on so many people. People I assumed had functional brains, just turn them off whenever the online. It’s fucking maddening, and I don’t see any way to combat it.
This sounds just like all the ridiculously hollow propaganda Putin was dropping for justifying the attack on Ukraine.

I recall this being the major complaint from Americans about ending the permanent war we had going in Afghanistan too.
He is right for all the wrong reasons. There are only bad sides in this conflict.
The world will be a lot better without both those authoritarian regimes.
