I simply use the button provided in the interface. I don't even know exactly who is contacted.
Actually, I realised recently I've been moded without realising. A few of m'y post than did not follow the rules have been taking out but they were on small community so I never notice than no one have replied.

That’s the neat thing all 3 groups are summoned at once.

Lemmy reports works like this: the report you make is sent to the moderators of the community, the admins of your home server, the admins of the server the community is hosted on and the admins of the server of the reported user.

Very cool from a user perspective but it must be a lot for big instance admins.

Once, I made the experiment of reporting a post (or a comment idk anymore) from sharkey. The admin of the sharkey instance was notified but not the Lemmy mod. But it was a year ago. A lot has change since.
