My crush on Jennifer Connelly started with Labyrinth (when I was a kid).

Just saw the movie recently for the first time, funny coincidence. And yeah I was kinda taken aback the first time we see it. I thought it was some kind of wardrobe malfunction left out accidentally. But nope, they wanted to be sure we saw it in every outfit lol.

that was just the norm in the 70's-80's. see Dune, Zardoz, Rollerball. probably some others but those were on the top of my head

Yeah, pretty sure his dong got second billing in the theatrical release posters

Have you not seen the fucking movie? 🤣

Hell, those of us who've seen it in cinemas've had a wholly different experience —as said protuberance was gargantuan on screen... 😶🤌🏻

[–] Korne127@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I've never heard of it before

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

You remind me of the babe.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 9 months ago

Hol'up. What babe?

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 9 months ago

Fun fact! Toby Froud (the baby in the flick) works for Laika, and showed up on his first day (years ago) in a shirt striped like his Labyrinth pajamas with the words "You Remind Me Of The Babe" on it. He's good people.

Bowie along with Bob Dylan are two guys who I’m convinced will have their legacy set on fire in my lifetime. Neither of them were secretive about their love for underage girls back in the day, and I don’t doubt there are darker skeletons hidden

[–] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 3 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (1 children)

oof. yeah, I forgot that about Bowie. I know in his time they did like to pin every conceivable crime on a bi dude but also in his time the age of consent was more of a suggestion and that's a problem .

It was easy to disavow Elvis because I never liked him but I need to be even more critical when it's somebody I look up to

Mattix says that when she was nearly 14 years old, she was introduced to Bowie while he was in Los Angeles on his [Ziggy Stardust Tour]) in October 1972. When Bowie's tour returned to Los Angeles five months later, on the night before Bowie performed at the [Long Beach Arena]in March 1973, Mattix claimed, Bowie's bodyguard was sent to pick up her and Starr for a sexual encounter. According to Mattix, as she told to *[Thrillist]in 2015, she and Starr met Bowie at the Rainbow Bar before the three went to Bowie's hotel suite and had sex: "... [Bowie] de-virginized me ... That night I lost my virginity and had my first threesome."

A lot of celebrity men from these days excuse this shit by saying “everyone was doing it in those days, and those girls wanted it” which is worse

[–] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 2 points 9 months ago

indeed it is worse.

Make penis bulges more acceptable.

Sometimes it's not possible to "hide" it without forcing it in uncomfortable ways.

It's just a body part. We know people have it. Why is it offensive if it is noticed over the clothes? Women walk around with breast bulges all the time. Let people be comfortable without facing shame.
