Hopefully they will tour in Canada, then Americans will be able to drive or fly up and catch a show.

We would love to have you, as long as you're a normal, respectful human being!

Yeah, I dunno. I'm starting to think we shouldn't be so accepting of even the moderate / non-voting Americans who're wanting to 'pass' as innocents in a fascist shitshow. Like Alberta's almost definitely being subjected to an American subversion campaign to destabilize our country -- likewise I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear the CIA was funnelling money into heightening animosity between Canada and First Nations. They aren't stupid enough to do that using Maga Hat wearing fanatics, they can blend in to the normal crowd fairly easily.

Given their actions in South America, and Trump's ongoing shenanigans with trade, we should really be less tolerant. It's like we're trying to stay friends with Nazi Germany as it got rolling, cause "some of them are still really nice people".

Lol. Yeah, you shouldn't have been accepting them in the first place. They're not innocent, just willfully ignorant.

There are no "normal" people here

For as long as we're allowed to leave. And not detained on the way back in.

Yeah, that was my reaction too. He will not be the only one either. You know there are others who will just avoid the US altogether in order to not get caught up in this type of BS. I hate this timeline. I've been listening to Aphro since the late 90s. He was like, a foundation type artist for me. He was definitely one of the first DNB DJs I ever listened to. Sad day.

I got to see him last year for the first time, sad that it’s also likely the last.

Fuck this whole timeline, how the fuck did we let literal Nazis take over

It's pretty clear the US immigration system cannot be trusted and it's basically run by criminals and chauvinists.

The rest of the world really needs to increase restrictions on US meddling and travel of criminal types, not so much tourists (although you probably want to restrict entry for far right extremist), but more along the line of various criminal groups that are considered technically legal (oligarch gang members, "VC" criminal groups, financial terrorism organizations).

This sucks! I had the pleasure of seeing him a few years ago at least. Def one of my favorite dnb artists. I hate this happened to him and will likely happen to others

Saw him in New Zealand this year on his tour. He played an epic long set

Disappointing how many comments are already here just accepting this as a fait accompli. In the scheme of everything going on this is admittedly pretty minor, but damn I'd expect a lot more defiance over this.

As someone else said, it's a sad day, alright, but I don't think we mean for the same reasons.

[–] MTZ@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah, definitely agreed. When I said that it's a sad day, I was specifically speaking about this situation but yes there are about a thousand other reasons as well that it is a sad day, week, month, etc.

What, exactly, are you hoping to see? What kind of "defiance"?
