Why am I seeing posts from blocked instances? (lemmy.world)

So I’ve added lemmy.ml to my block list, but I still see posts from that instance on c/progressivepolitics. Why? Is that not how blocking works?

Users are not blocked, which is strange, but I have the same issue/feature. Only instances are blocked. I guess they have a different definition of blocking than I have.

Yup, it would be much better if it just blocked all users from the instance as well. Or it at least gave you the option for the shittier instances.

You still see the users of the blocked instance if they post to a not blocked instance. You only really block all the communities on the instance with an instance block.

Lemmy devs really need to rethink the way this currently works. Users are trying to filter the signal to noise ratio on this platform, and this isn’t helping.
