Honestly, FemShep is so much better, she’s more richly developed as a character than BroShep ever was.

Okay, but can she white guy shuffle dance at the club?

She's my Canon Shep because Jennifer Hale did such a great job.

I read people complained that ME1's character creator was ass. I guess it must have gotten that reputation by being kind of ass for making a dude, because my Shep was a badass bitch. Voice actress was on top of things too. She's by far the most memorable custom character I played.

Until ME3 where they yassified her from a 40-something war veteran to a glossy-skinned 25 year old lifestyle vlogger. Interestingly that made me - a cis man - feel viscerally connected to the injunction to look a certain way for the male gaze, and I got so fucking mad at bioware during that intro cinematic.

How is she more richly developed than broShep? Don't they have more or less the exact same stories? And from what little I've seen, the male romances are generally better?

(Asking sincerely to be educated, if you have the patience)

My Shepard was celibate, can't waste time on romance when you've got:

  • A galaxy to save
  • Garrus' calibrations to review

Just played it again after 10 years. I forgot how truly janky the first one is even after the remaster.

Circle hacking, my beloved

Why not both? That's the path I chose!

I'm scared to mod because I'm on Linux and playing LE, so I don't know if the mods would even work

[–] Ashtear@piefed.social 1 points 3 months ago

I'm in the same boat, want FemShep, always romance Tali. The ME2 LE romance mod is pretty painless. Unfortunately, last I checked, the modder never finished the ME3 LE mod. There's a way to force it in ME3 by hacking the save file and it'll still get you there, but it won't be as seamless.

Its not the easiest process, but me le modding has been figured out. Here's a guide made for steam deck but the steps should apply to most distros. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2924374014

I am going through LE on Linux right now with my wife. I installed the ME3Tweaks Mod Manager using WINE and then installed mods through it designating my LE1, LE2, and LE3 directories in the Steam installation.

I have only installed the ME2 QoL mod of 1 probe getting all resources for a planet (after my wife experienced the tedium of probing planets for resources) so we could get back to playing. That mod has worked flawlessly so I would assume mods being installed through that Mod Manager are potentially just as stable.

Oh I didn't mod. She took off her mask. That's like, the sexiest thing! Good enough for me!

13 years since mass effect 3 came out.
Even with the controversial ending (which I didn't find a big deal) it felt like they were on a roll...

Tali or Legion? Legion.

Porque no los dos?

[–] RexWrexWrecks@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

First time I played the game, I lost Tali in ME2 so the choice to save the Geth was straight-forward. Second time I played, I didn't have enough rep to save both and I watched the Geth destroy the quarians while Tali jumped backwards off a cliff. Third time, I did everything I possibly could to max out my Paragon and save both, gloriously.
