Is it just my imagination or has Jacobin turned to shit this year? I know it had had bad articles before but this year seems bad beyond belief. By January 1st - I didn't think they'd do notably worse than protecting/promoting the Waffen-SS tattoo guy. But this thread shows how wrong I was!

In other news - I wish Adam was active on Bluesky. He hardly posts there at all and I hate to spend any significant time on Twitter.
They've been steadily getting worse in socdemery as in acceptance of libs (jesus christ interview with ezra "epstein was a guy" klein) while simultaneously getting more chauvinistic with some class reductionist pieces, i think from like 2024 election, but even before, in 2010s they've had more whimsical and theoretical bent, now they are morphing into radlibs. whiff of "power" from kibbutz bernie/aocia havve made them worse i feel.
like counterpunch will republish straight dogshit state dept pieces, but they are still more varied and radical in places, where they would endorse resistance or shit on socdems.
also theory in fedcobin is getting worse and worse and shifting to narrativium

I went to the homepage and had a look around. I found an article titled "The Trouble With Fascism Analogies" but it went on and on and on and on. My eyes glazed over. It's ~3,000 words and I wondered if the writer ever got to the point.
I went back to the homepage and I was about to close the tab when I realized I had missed something because it had no thumbnail and the font was small. It's an article from a few days ago: "Abundance and the Left". I wondered how bad it was. I got surprised. I figured it would probably be bad if not horrible. But it's atrocious.
