If you're Polish, do not join the PSL

I need to actually engage in collective action with my local chapter. I leaflet when I can and take other individual actions, but have been shy about collective in-person stuff…. (I’ll say it….. I’m a liberal!) They do a good amount mutual aid and education from what I can tell though, so it’s on my list to do

for what its worth, the PSL people that i've met have been the friendliest and most approacheable people i've had the chance to talk to in the US!

That’s been my experience too via email/chat. I appreciate that it actually requires engagement with political theory as well (in addition to action)

I’ll also say that I’ve been active in dems, DSA, IWW, and PSL (in that order… :p ) as I’ve aged and while DSA was good, IWW and PSL appear more action oriented (ie supporting labor activity, mutual aid)

The last dem town hall I went to on gun violence, the moderator screened my question 😩

The psl has no presence in my state :(

You can still join the PSL as a whole, and they will give you a ton of help towards building a chapter if that’s what you want to do. Or, you could just be an organized comrade without a local branch.

They could.

[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

That sounds like an opportunity.

I would recommend joining the PSL Action Network, basically you pay $5 a month to help sustain the party and you get a bunch of stickers and pamphlets in the mail. And they'll also let you know if they're doing anything in your area.

You can also join as an at-large member and when the party gets another person in your area they'll put you in contact.

The only states I could think of would be the Dakotas, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, and Wyoming. And even then I'm not sure.

Have you tried applying on the website?
