MODERATORS
It smelled like the apocalypse during the work. First they broke the water main. Then they cut the gas line.
The neighborhood I was in 8 or 9 years ago got fiber and the contractor cut the gas line at least twice on my street, to say nothing of the rest of the streets where they also cut the gas line. It was like they never bothered calling 811 before digging.
They marked where they were going to lay the line but there wasn't a single mark for anything that was already there. Cutting at least one of the two lines in the ground was inevitable cutting both was foreseeable. Good thing we don't have sewer here. They probably would have cut it too.
