Donald Trump’s tiredness, recent MRI and hand bruise suggest he may be taking medication to treat Alzheimer’s disease, according to a “curious” California Democrat.

Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, D-Calif., tweeted that Trump is showing signs he’s taking the Alzheimer’s disease drug Leqembi.

“The Alzheimer’s drug Leqembi:- Is administered through an infusion (for example, through the hand)- Can cause swelling, bleeding, or fluid leakage in the brain, requiring regular MRIs- Can cause tiredness,” Kamlager-Dove tweeted along with a picture of Trump’s hand bruise. “Curious.”

Dude will be 80 next year, the idea that he's not somehow having major medical issues would be bizarre.

I'd love for a reporter to ask "So how's the Leqembi treatment going?" and watch him either a) explode or b) Go on at length how it's an amazing drug and he never felt better.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 26 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

He's 80 and he has a very long and public history of making terrible health choices

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I hear his blood type is McShit.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

He'll have to call them "piggy" a few times in the process, either way.

Both my parents were in rude good health at 80. Not everyone's feeble at that age. Then again, unlike Trump, both parents were following exercise and weight-training programs, not eating fast food, and showed no signs of cognitive decline.

I’d love for a reporter to ask “So how’s the Leqembi treatment going?”

He's too stupid to know what it means, so he'd just insult the reporter and change the subject. Or assume it had something to do with his leg.

Remember when the Republicans wouldn't shut up about their theory that the Biden administration was covering up Bidens supposed health problems? You know, exactly like they're doing for Trump now?

[–] tamiya_tt02@lemmy.world 24 points 3 weeks ago

Every complaint is projection. They're terrified of being called out on their bullshit, but simultaneously forgetful of the evil things they said during any democratic president's term.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

Jake Tapper and his stupid book all but poured accelerant on their claims earlier this year. And look who is oddly quiet now....

No he’s not. He is a god. And a pedophile. And a rapist. But a god. Look at his orange manly non makeup wearing self. 8’9” tall. -7% body fat. The energy of 1884 12 year olds….not the ones he raped. This man deserves a made up peace prize from one of the most corrupt organizations on the planet.

Evil narcissists live forever because they feel almost no anxiety. They are so assured that they're right, or so disconnected from accountability, that they don't even know how to stew in feelings of doubt or imagine scenarios where they aren't coming out the hero.

This is also the source of the confidence that lets them basically soar through life untouched by consequence.

The rest of us live in a stew of stress hormones that erode our organs and minds because we worry if we're taking care of the people we love and if we're going to make the right decisions in life.

I hate that this asshole has any influence on culture at all. Dude just cannot stay in his lane, and so many people bow to this fuckface.

I don't even watch the NFL and don't care about sportsball at all and this annoys me. It's probably just the fact that one of the most pampered and idiotic and unqualified person on the planet is putting his fingerprint on everything.

I saw that and assumed it was an onion headline...

When he dies they will replace him with AI and the Supreme Court will rule it constitutional.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 weeks ago

That AI has a name, it's Grok.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I believe it. You heard it here, folks!

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

He will last another 6 - 10 years. That fat fuck has health care not even a billionaire can dream of. Miller and the rest will prop him up ala Weekend At Bernie's, but he will be just cognizant enough to ramble through a speech and sign an order.

Information about the treatment. It actually seems to line up. Infusions at two week intervals. Routine MRI’s.

I honestly think he was diagnosed with dementia all the way back around the "man woman person camera tv" incident.

When someone has a neuropsych eval, it's never just ONE test, it's a set of several. Another very common one is the clock drawing test, which can be highly indicative of alzheimers or other forms of dementia.

The simple fact that he wasn't also crowing about drawing the best clock anyone ever saw makes me think that one did not go well.

Hope he fucks off this mortal coil soon. Wakes up dead one morning type thing. As is common for octogenarians.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 14 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

What's wrong with months of pain, fear and helplessness first? If anyone deserves that, it's Trump.

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What's wrong is that he can still cause harm while that's happening.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I almost guarantee Stephen Miller or someone is going to Weekend at Bernie's some horrendous shit through before trump's death is publicly announced.

Then we'll get a 6-3 supreme court decision saying it's ok.

They kept Cheney alive without a functioning heart. No way he goes out from something unless it is catastrophic.

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

Big difference in keeping a brain alive with intensive heart remediations vs keeping a brain alive that's intent on dying from the inside. Ain't no stopping those amyloid prions after they reach a critical concentration.

So that's why he agrees with whoever he spoke to.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago

Oh, I do hope it's serious

[–] synae@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 weeks ago

Best of luck to the crisis!

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I still wonder what kind of experimental medications/treatments he was given when he got Covid during his first term.

[–] Naevermix@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Trump is the symptom, not the illness.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

From what I remember it wasn't even proven this drug works. There were some data suggesting it might have some positive effects and since there is no known treatment for Alzheimer's it was approved to "give patients a chance".

[–] TommySalami@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I work with the Alzheimer's drugs somewhat frequently, and there are ~15 patients I know of on Leqembi specifically. It's not meant to reverse or stop anything, but rather slow progression -- which for Alzheimer's can be a miracle. You're not going to get on the med or even be evaluated for Alzheimer's unless you're showing some deficits though, and you absolutely need evidence of plaque build-up.
