Not strictly fuckcars material, but it's an appalling indictment of how bad conditions are for pedestrians

This. My mil took me for a walk in Mumbai. I tried to walk om the sidewalk and she said "no you'll get hurt, you have to walk on the street with the cars". Rickshaws buzzed by me within inches, and the pollution was nauseating. I wish india would invest in people infrastructure.

From my impression last month (only been there for two weeks) there are some cities that are investing in elevated metro lines at least. But more needs to be done, even the smaller placed I've been to were clearly car first

I freaking hate Bangalore. I hate how horrible Indian cities are for pedestrians.

It’s wild how clean that road looks beside the completely fucked sidewalk.

Indian footpaths in a nutshell.

Funny anecdote.

I was only in Bengalore once for a few days but I guess I ended up walking through uncharacteristically nice areas. I would even say better than most urban Indian settings I’ve seen (only a handful of cities).

But definitely worth calling this out and striving for better! Thanks for the share.
