Fuck. The. Police.

The "solution" to mass shootings is to get rid of the mass instead of the shooter???

[–] adaveinthelife@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 days ago

Pretty on brand for one of the worlds most fervent 'nanny states'

I'm just surprised Australia hasn't baby-fied terrorism yet. 'Antisemie does a shootie, so no more protesties!'

You clearly don't understand Anglophone culture; killing us a sacred act and blood sacrifice our highest ritual. Going after shooters would be like an Italian catholic trying to assassinate the pope!

Is it weird that now I'm craving Italian sausage? I don't even care what it's in. I'll eat a handful or two of ground Italian sausage right fuckin now.

A little if it's related to this, but not completely unreasonable. Pork and fennel go really well together.

I mean, getting rid of the racism seemed like the main take away but in no scenario does banning protests achieve this

[–] prex@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago

It feels like this is just building pressure. Peaceful protests were giving people a means of expression. The vibes from the few that I have seen were pretty positive.

So police have MORE power to be dickheads for the entire festive period. "Move on people I disagree with or I'll arrest you as a terrorist." Fucking brilliant work Minns. I'm sure all the terrorists will stop now that they aren't allowed to peacefully protest... (edit)

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

So police have the power to be dickheads...

They've always had that power, especially in NSW.

"You do not have the right to complain but we're putting a nice bow of an excuse on it so it looks better" -Aussie government right now

[–] outnumbered_int@lemmy.world 23 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Acab Aussie cops are barstards

Nsw cops is a new breed of anti ned kelly aristocratic bootlicking class traitors like they always have beenz , its in their dna

[–] rimu@piefed.social 12 points 3 days ago

Not like anyone's going to be protesting over Christmas and New year's anyway.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Under no pretext should Australian workers have surrendered arms and ammunition and now, predictably, they've been denied their right to assembly as well

[–] prex@aussie.zone 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You think that we got & kept the right to assemble by owning arms and ammunition!?

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

No, I think you just lost the right to assemble by not owning arms and ammunition. You're going to lose more rights too. Political power flows from the barrel of a gun.

working out great for us in the us

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Most of the people in the US with guns support the fascists. Leftists are relatively scarce and Liberals typically hate guns.

[–] Fleur_@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Right, so what you're proposing has had entirely the opposite effect to what you claimed?

[–] baines@lemmy.cafe 1 points 2 days ago

i’m aware

but more lefties with guns than you think just less gunsexuals on the left

[–] mickus@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago

People like minns hate the fact we can protest legally without being crushed by the police. He seems determined to change that and has been partially successful

[–] reallykindasorta@slrpnk.net 6 points 3 days ago

Was there a protest involved?

[–] themaninblack@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Predicting Australia Day will have a big one
