I remember when I was a kid, I got down on one knee and prayed for a more interesting world like those in my hero comics.

I wish I could go back in time and strangle that little shit

When as a child I would complain "I'm bored". My parents would reply "Ancient Chinese curse - may you live in interesting times."

Nothing Chinese about it, but it was meant to blanket it in perceived mystery and wisdom so you thought about its meaning before dismissing it.

When I was a kid and learned about the fall of Rome I was like "Yeah, but how cool would it have been to have been alive then and witness the history first hand?"

Smh

We both got what we wished for, we should join forces and wish for something amazing 😂

I just need to know whose parents I have to kill to get into the Batman timeline.

Shame fascism is very precedented

That's the exact sentiment MAGA is founded on. "Make America Great Again". They obviously don't mean it either.

The problem isn't that times are now more interesting than they used to be, just that we're more aware of them. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. As long as you're not black, gay, trans, hispanic, or a woman. Or any other number of demographics who've had shit piled onto them for no reason other than it makes someone else feel more powerful.

Remember this last year when Charlie Kirk was shot in the fucking neck? That was pretty eventful.

Is OP's posters asking for more precedence?

Can I at least get laid, please? Please? 😭

I mean, if you come to Texas. I'm ace, but pretty bored

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

May I suggest the fun past time called "getting the fuck out of Texas"?

Ha. Not many places for me to go. I'm disabled and can't afford to rent a bedroom in someone's house like I did after Hurricane Katrina bc the economy. I've checked cities all over the US. When the elderly aunt I live with now dies I'll be homeless again

[–] Baizey@feddit.dk 4 points 1 month ago

Most certainly not, that would stipulate unprecedented times!

Wishing you a novel but extremely manageable new year 🤞🏻

I mean, most recent events kinda suck, so hopefully they're not too precedented

I mean we're a day in and my aunt died. She wasn't that great of a person though.
